Project Management & Process Management that feels good.

GMTA offers a project management and process management training that focuses on how to bring more ease into your life and also how to enhance your professional skills.

As the Lead Principal at GMTA, It was important for me to offer our Project & Process Management training course because of my own professional experiences. At each stage of my career, what has made me a High Performer, an Intrapreneur, a highly valued employee, was my superb project management and process management skills. I got to a point where I was able to manage my own workload successfully and also manage the collaboration of large teams to reach one goal that had multiple parts.

But the way I approached work was from a place of a lot of unnecessary pressure. Sometimes the pressure was coming externally and other times it was from myself. It led to burnout and delaying my dreams and pursuits because of it.

Once I gained a new perspective, I was able to provide better service within teams and leading teams in a more enjoyable way and still deliver on projects and engagements successfully.

In addition, whenever I approached my work in this way, I was able to see solutions and creative opportunities sooner and quicker and explore them without fear of delaying or jeopardizing the project. Some ideas were great and some were not but they did not impact the bottom line because the core responsibilities and goals were met.

My vision and intention for this course was and still is to:

  • Provide a quality course that positively and tangibly impacts our customers’ lives and careers.

  • Show participants that they are capable of approaching their work in a more easeful way and still be on top of their business goals.

  • Remove the fear and anxiety out of project management and process management.

  • Encourage and promote quality and purpose over just get it done.

  • Provide participants with the means to enhance their professional profile and become high-performing and quality talent at their organizations.

  • Provide new entrants into the workforce and those re-entering the workforce, with additional skills to make them attractive candidates.

  • Be a quality resource for companies with the development of their new recruits or their existing team

I ask that you take a moment to reflect on the following excerpts from the course:

  • At the core of any successful project or process is leadership. And leadership starts with managing and leading yourself. Specifically, you have to be self-motivated before you can motivate others. You have to embody the qualities you are asking of your team. We love the quote by Oliver Goldsmith: “You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips.”

  • So whether you are a one-person team or managing multiple people, it is important that you first take a moment to observe how are you navigating and moving and showing up when it comes to your work.

  • How are you showing up today?

  • Do you end each day feeling proud of the work you did that day?

  • Do you end each week proud of the work you did?

  • Do you have a personal system and approach to your workday that allows you to have a healthy balance between the creative/passion/parts of your job that you enjoy doing versus the aspects of your role that you do not enjoy or that are more draining than nourishing?

  • How good is your communication with your colleagues?

  • What does your e-mail inbox look like?

  • Do you have healthy boundaries that allow you to take a break during the day to nourish yourself or just take time away from the work you are doing? Even if you love what you are doing, it is good to take a break. You never know what may come to you that you hadn’t thought of before.

  • Do you have resources or a person that you can go to for help when you need?

  • How good are you at ending your workday at a healthy time?

We are asking these questions not for you to feel bad, but to take a moment and take inventory of how you can show up as you really want. This is something you can do that does not cost money. It is just you making a different choice to start developing into who you really want to be. This is not fluff. It is not impossible. There are many people already out there who approach work in a way that they enjoy + that allows them to enjoy time with their loved ones + allows them to be profitable and successful. So why can't that be you?

This is just a sneak peek of one of the items we address in the course.
